The objective of this study is to investigate whether the MA in the seedfirm is positive or negative. Based on some indices including market structureand price level, findings are that the impacts of the MA are not so high aswe previously expected.In the vegetable seed marketing sector, some positive results have beenfound, improving the transparency of the seed transaction which seemed difficultto solve.The volume of total seed production, however, has dropped since 1997, theyear of the MA, but the fluctuation varies by commodity.Therefore, the impact of MA in the vegetable seed industry so far seemspositive according to some index. But the results drawn from the results must beapproached with care, because the time and method of the survey contain somerestriction, and the data used need objectivity andstability.
