China's fruit production increased remarkably over thelast two decades. However, the growth trajectory has begun to slow asincreased production has met declining prices. This study attempts to providecurrent situation and perspectives in production, consumption, trade, prices,and processing in Chinese fruit industry.China is scheduled to jointhe WTO in the near future, impling China will significantly impact on worldfruit market. Chinese fruit industry will threat Korea in a moment becauseChinese fruits have relative advantages in terms of prices, although the qualityis low compared to Korean fruits. Korea has to make efforts to differentiateKorean fruits from Chinese ones.
