The privatization of agricultural land was commenced since 1989 in Centraland Eastern European countries(CEE) and Commonwealth of Independent States(CIS).The restitution of agricultural land to the former owners was the main formof privatization in CEE except Albania while the distribution with payment toagricultural workers was prevalent in CIS. But the fragmentation of land or thelarge scale of agricultural land compared to that of the advanced countries likeUSA and EU countries comes into question.The privatization experience in CEE and CIS is useful in predicting theforeseeable process in the North Korea and China.
