The Korea Rural Economic Institute(hereinafter referred to as KREI) is a government-affiliated research institute under the Prime Minister's Office, leading agricultural policy and conducting comprehensive research and investigations on the rural economy and social development with the goal of improving the quality of life for the public.

The research outputs of KREI include publications such as research reports and papers authored by its members, whose value increases as they are widely utilized as public assets for the sustainable future of agriculture and rural areas.

KREI supports the principles of open access by promoting the openness, sharing, and dissemination of its research outputs, and has adopted the following open access repository policy:

  1. 1The KREI Library collects KREI’s research outputs to operate the institutional repository and makes the full texts, for which copyright permissions have been granted, accessible globally.
  2. 2The KREI Library strives to ensure that research outputs available through the institutional repository are used fairly by everyone, in accordance with copyright usage permissions.
  3. 3All research outputs published after the approval of this policy are subject to it, with the exception of materials for which copyright has not been secured. However, if copyright restrictions on research outputs published prior to the policy’s approval are lifted, the full text may be made available.
  4. 4Detailed matters related to open access not specified in this policy shall be governed by the "KREI Institutional Repository Operation Guidelines."
