Discussion and ConclusionABSTRACTThis study focuses on examining the extent to which social and economicfactors influence possible farm enterprise continuity/ discontinuity outcomes(e.g., succession, inheritance without succession, and/or dissolution) amongexisting farm households. Thus, the study tests hypotheses drawn from twotheoretical perspectives (entrepreneurial and preservationist) based on theempirical data collected in Riverside village, where is located around Kimhae,Kyongnam province in Korea. It was found that the regression analysisresults are not statistically robust in explaining farm succession outcomes. However, this sociological analysis of family farm succession and dissolutionwill provide important policy implications about the social reproduction ofKorean agriculture and rural community in the 21st century.
