dc.description.tableofcontentsThis paper analyzes the contribution of structural shocks to the fluctuationsof agricultural productivity in Korea. Two structural shocks, technology shocksand demand shocks, are assumed here. A structural VAR model is used to identifythese shocks and investigate the possible permanent effects of demand shocks onagricultural productivity.This paper shows that while demand shocks have the permanent effects onagricultural productivity, technology shocks dominate the movement ofagricultural productivity. Even though previous studies on agriculturalproductivity have not considered the possible effects of demand shocksexplicitly, empirical findings in this paper seem to justify empiricalresults in those studies.-
