인구구조 변화에 따른 식품시장 대응과제 (2/2차년도)

Abstract

인구구조 변화는 사회 전반에 영향을 미치는 요인이다. 국내 인구는 저출생의 영향으로 2020년 최고치를 기록한 이후 감소세로 전환되었고, 고령인구 비중이 증가하면서 한국은 세계에서 가장 빠르게 초고령사회로 진입할 것으로 전망되고 있다. 이러한 인구구조의 변화는 국내 식품시장에 소비와 생산 측면 모두에서 영향을 미칠 것으로 예상된다. 이에 따라 인구구조가 식품시장에 미치는 영향을 2년에 걸쳐 식품소비 측면과 식품산업 측면에서 살펴볼 필요가 있다.

이 연구에서는 인구구조 변화를 인구규모 변화에 따른 인구감소, 인구구성 변화에 따른 고령화, 수도권 집중화 현상, 1인 및 맞벌이 가구의 증가, 주요 생산·소비 세대 구성 변화로 구분하여 검토하고 있다. 본 연구는 인구구조 변화로 인해 식품시장이 받는 영향을 1년 차에는 식품소비 측면에서, 2년 차에는 식품산업(인력) 측면에서 면밀히 파악하고 향후 10년 후 미래 식품시장 대응방향과 대응과제를 제시하는 것을 목적으로 수행되었다.

Purpose of Research ○This study aims to analyze the impacts of demographic changes on the food market and to propose strategic policy responses. In the first year (2024), the research focused on the implications of demographic change and related policy tasks from the perspective of food consumption, while in the second year (2025), it examined the effects of demographic change on the food market from the production perspective. To this end, the study reviewed the current and projected supply and demand of labor in the food industry under demographic changes, identified key challenges through an analysis of the food industry’s workforce (manufacturing and foodservice sectors) and industry perception surveys, and evaluated current labor policies and support programs. The findings from both years were integrated to suggest strategies for the food industry in the face of demographic shifts.
