Export of Kimchi has dramatically increased since 1980 and export to Japanaccounts for 97 percent of total Kimchi exported. In order to promote export ofKimchi, Korean Kimchi should be differentiated from Japanese and Chinese Kimchithrough having own brands for the exported products and labeling of origin ofraw materials.Quality control and development of design to meet preferences of Japaneseconsumers also should be maintained.
