Summary and ConclusionsABSTRACTThe Korea livestock industry is currently facing the critical challengeof the market liberalization trend under the World Trade Organization. Thisstudy analyzes the consumption behavior of meat and fish products in Korea, byestimating the Linear Approximate/Almost Ideal Demand System(LA/AIDS) for Koreanmeat and fish products.The empirical results indicate that beefimports in Korea would increase in the future under trade liberalization. Ifcheap and better quality imported beef is introduced to Korean consumers, Hanwoobeef would not be able to maintain its market share.
