In the early stages of economic development, a large proportion of the
national products comes from the agricultural sector.
Hence the burden of domestic saving is likely to fall heavily on the
agricultural sector. This article examines intersectoral capital flows in the
1962-1983 period.
Results indicate that the direction of the intersectoral capital flows
in the period have been net outflows from the agricultural setor to the non-farm
setor. Net capital outflows over the whole period amount to about 119 trillion
won at 1998 constant prices.
