Green tourism in Korea was introduced in 1984 to increase farm household
income.
However, it was not so satisfactory. In this respect, some policy measures
for renovating green tourism are emerging.
First, green tourism must be approached by a rural village unit since a
Korean farm is not big enough to provide green tourism as in European countries.
A rural village could provide natural rural scenery and culture while farmers in
the village could operate BB, farm restaurants, and tourism farms.
Second, green tourism must be based on people's interaction between
rural-urban areas for better understanding each other and vitalize rural
community by visiting people, purchasing farm products and experiencing farming
and rural culture.
Third, most rural infrastructure and agricultural development projects must
be linked to enhancing green tourism in rural community.
